2010 yılında Granada – İspanya’da başlayan UluslararasıAzarquiel Astronomi Okulları’nın beşincisi bu yıl lisansüstü öğrencilerine yönelik olarak 15-19 Kasım 2021 tarihlerinde çevrimiçi düzenlenecek.
İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi tarafından düzenlenen okula Türk Astronomi Derneği de destek veriyor. Dersler Türkiye’den ve yurtdışından öğretim üyeleri tarafından verilecek. Okulun dili İngilizce olacak ve başvurular http://azarquielschool.online/ adresinden alınacak.
First Announcement
Following a series of four summer schools, we are pleased to announce The 5th Azarquiel School of Astronomy between 15-19 November 2021 as an international online school. It will be devoted to promote cultural exchange, bridging the gap between the East and the West and to promote advanced-level teaching in Astronomy, motivating future research activities. Special attention will be given to the historical contribution of Arabs to Astronomy and Science.
Renowned experts with international reputation in their field of research will teach, during one week, several courses related with observational and theoretical astrophysics. Main topics include observational astronomy, stellar physics, galactic astronomy, chemical evolution, extragalactic astronomy and cosmology. Some of the open-conferences will be related to the history of science.
Physics and Astronomy students/graduates are invited to apply for the school. The number of participants will be limited to 60 students. Applicants must hold a BS degree in astronomy, physics or relevant subjects. Students will be selected according to geographical attendance, gender balance and curriculum. Participants are encouraged to present talks for the afternoon sessions.
There is no registration fee, but advanced registration is required. Applicants must send a CV after submitting their registration form.
